Finally back at it!

Travis and I have come to the conclusion that we just have to do something about our shrinking clothes. Could it be the soap we are using? Maybe the freezing weather is affecting the size of our clothes. Yeah, right!

Ok, so Travis and I have been a little delusional. We decided to really do something about our "incredibly shrinking" clothes dilemna. So, this week, we started going to the gym. The next part is a bit shocking, so steady yourselves. We get up at 4:50 AM! Yep, you read it right. That is the only time that we felt that we could consistently make it the gym. We have actually found that it works for us. I was 5 for 5 days.

This morning, I wanted to try something a bit different so I went to a Turbo Kickboxing class. I slept in and the class was at the reasonable hour of 10:30 so I assure you that am not completely crazy. It kicked my behind! I realized I had to overcome my fear of looking like a fool, but I am sure I looked the part. I must say though, it felt great! I already realize that I am going to feel it even more tomorrow.

I have also joined a Wellness Challenge at work. 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily plus 30 minutes of cardio 3 times a week is the goal. My friends know that I have a competitive streak. I am not competing against anyone but myself, but the competition helps me focus.

So, why am I really doing this? I look forward to being able to climb the Notre Dame without completely dying of exhaustion. I look forward to having more energy for the things I really want to do. I look forward to not having that aforementioned pesky problem of incredibly shrinking clothes. I look forward to enjoying sping/summer clothes. I look forward to being able to climb stairs without panting. And I can admit that I look forward to plain looking better.

I am changing my paradigm. Travis and I are gym people. We get up at 4:50 every morning and we go to the gym. That is just what we do.

Paris is always a good idea!

Bon jour! I made my reservations yesterday for Paris. I am going to Paris with 5 of my bestest girlfriends!! We will be there from April 26-May 5th. We are all so excited.

This photo was taken on my last trip to Paris in June 2004. My folks, oldest sister and I went to France and toured for 2 weeks. It was the celebration of the 60th anniversary of D-Day. What a great trip that was!

My father, who is currently in Thailand, emailed home the other day. He said something that I thought was so profound. He said that once you learn something new or travel to a new place, your brain can never shrink back to the way that it was (something like that). I believe that! I love to learn and travel to new places. I know that I will see things I never saw before. I am excited to have Michelle show us her perspective.

This photo was taken by Jennie, my sister.
This very artsy area is behind the Sacre Coeur de Montmartre. I remember having a yummy crepe with lemon. I can't wait to go back!!
